SOS Halloween Family Event

We loved seeing all the Pie and Halloween Pumpkin entries, next year we will have age groups for the Halloween pumpkin competition since so many kids entered and I want to make sure they do it again next year. It was super close between the very different skull pumpkin by Nick Roberts and the more traditional pumpkin by Gabriel Ferreira . The judges eventually decided on the traditional pumpkin by Gabriel Ferreira. He was the winner of a meal voucher sponsored by Table 29 . The Pumpkin Pie competition was won by Yemurai Mhlanga and she received a Spice Hamper sponsored by SGI Spice Blends and a meal voucher from Table 29. A big thanks to our prize sponsors.

I would like to say thank you to the following people: Lara George , my event partner for helping me brainstorm and come up with something fun for our kids to do. Rory Munton , for getting the venue ready, fixing the Milk Shed’s roof, pouring a floor and getting us our movie screen. Tannie Kraai , for allowing us to use her farm for all our events. Kai Bahmann , for sponsoring the tables and benches, help get the movie screen up and in general just help with the set up and for making the Witch fly. Keith Burrows , for always being willing to do our events sound for us, you are a Legend and it is a great relieve to be able to count on you. Jess Jeppe-Prinsloo , she is the one responsible for doing the artwork for our events. Bernie de Haas , this man ROCKS! He is the artist who build most of the décor. Kelly Willeman-de Haas , her artistic help and ideas is unbelievable. Megan Burgess Hudson , thank you for managing the competitions and for being a judge. Jenny Munton & Joh-Mare Coetzer for selling tickets at the entrance Reg Gurnell, Dirk Bahmann and Tricia Davis for helping on the Trick or Treat Night Walk.
